Our oldest daughter, Amaris, was born nine weeks premature and more susceptible to develop learning disabilities. Yet, we taught her the alphabet by the time she was one, and she learned to read as a two year old.
Reading by 2 (see video)
Amaris, now nine years old, is smart, confident, and loves to read and learn about many topics! I am proud to say, that developing early reading skills enhanced her life.
Teaching a toddler how to read is so much fun!
They are so excited to read words that are in their speaking vocabulary...like Mommy, Daddy, and of course, Barney! Dora, Diego, and dinosaurs have also been very popular words to read in our home.We use lap reading, word games, interactive software, and other fun literacy activities to help our children learn how to read naturally. Learn how you can teach your toddler to read, as you finish this seven part series.
